Information Communication & Technology

All staff and students must abide by our school 'acceptable use' policy. This policy is designed to keep us safe. Please read it as anyone who is unable to abide by the terms of this policy will not be able to use our technology.

Within Kōraunui School, we are protected by N4L filtering and internet services. This means that any devices using our network and internet require compliance interventions in order to keep our devices, students and staff safe.

Applications and site we use at school

Studyladder is a web based educational program designed by teachers.

We use Microsoft 365 and WebApps for communication and file storage.

Kōraunui School uses Office 365 for all file storage and communication. This means that students and staff have access to their files from any internet connected device and can continue to work regardless of their location.

This software and online access is totally free of cost to all our staff and students for the period of time they are a member of our school.

You can access the Office apps in two ways. Desktop Apps and Web Apps. The webapps are available from any device connected to the internet. The desktop apps are downloaded to your device and are an extended version of the webapps.

This means that they become available on any internet connected device almost anywhere you have internet access. The Office Apps website gives pupils and staff access to many of the schools apps, (scroll down to see them all).

When asked for your account, just enter your school email address and password.

The included apps vary year to year and currently include:

Copilot, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Minecraft Education, Reflect, OneNote, Whiteboard, and Microsoft Defender.

Digital copies of your child's work can be saved into Microsoft teams with your child's school email address and password. Even offline work can be photographed or filmed and uploaded. If you don't know your email address or password, please contact your teacher.

Some of the most common apps we use are:

Microsoft Teams

This is where we communicate with each other. Only people with a school email address and password can chat in here or access the files. Different groups are available depending on what class you are in. When you save your work into the class files area the teacher will be able to access it. When the teacher saves work or makes a comment you will be able to access it.

Outlook email and calendar

This is where your emails will be once you log in.

Word

This is a wonderful word processor. Great for creating documents which can then be saved into Teams so that the teacher can access it.

PowerPoint

Create slideshows to present your work and save them into Teams.

Excel

Create spreadsheets, graphs and so much more and save them into Teams. Great for lists and mathematical work.

To access our school library online we use the Access-It Library App

Our school library uses the Access-It Library App. You can use this app to see what books we have in the library, check your issued books and reserve books. As time goes on, we will add E-books and other electronic resources for our use.

If a student or staff member does not have a login for this app, feel free to contact us and we will issue a username and password.

The Access-It Library App web app is also available on internet connected devices.
