KI O RAHI TOURNAMENT
This week our Koraunui Ki o Rahi Roopu went to Taita Central Kura to show off their skills in a Ki o Rahi Festival organised by Nuku Ora for Taita and Stokes Valley Schools. It was a great day with tamariki showing their sportsmanship and KORAU values superbly.
RIPPA RUGBY TOURNAMENT
Our Ripper Rugby teams had a wonderful time taking part in the Rippa Rugby Tournament with school from Stokes Valley and Lower Hutt at Delaney Park yesterday. They competed fiercely and demonstrated our school KORAU values superbly. Thank you to Craig Turner, Bevan Walker and Octavia Rasmussen for their support in allowing our kids to shine with your coaching.
ATTENDANCE
We currently have 78% of all tamariki attending school 90% or more of the time.
We are noticing a trend where we are not able to contact some of our whānau / families and are not being notified about some absences.
Daily attendance is important for tamariki to make the most of learning opportunities and build strong relationships with their peers and staff at school.
If your tamariki will be absent from school please contact the office through the parent app, email, the school website or call the school.
TE PUAWAITANGA O TE KAKANO HARCOURT PARK TRIP
Last week tamariki from Te Puawaitanga o te Kakano went on we trip to Harcourt Park with a focus on building and strengthening the relationships across the three classrooms. Below is writing from Ahurei and Jodecy about their experiences.
Last Thursday Te Puawaitanga o te Kakano went on a fabulous trip to Harcourt Park.
First, we went on a great walk in the creaking bushes. We saw huge amounts of fungi and a smelly, stinky sandal! Also, we found a humongous leaf that was way bigger than my hand. Next, we went to an enormous park with a loooooong stretched flying fox. I liked it but suddenly I fell off by accident, whoa! Then we walked stubbornly to the giant swing, it could definitely fit nine people on it, so when we went on it, it was magnificent. We finished playing in the marvelous park but I did not want to go! Then, we got into our swimming togs, so I went in the fabulous splash pad first. I ate about five fabulous sausages then I played joyfully with my friends. We played an astounding game that one of them thought of, so we played it until time was up! So, we got out joyfully of the teensy, weensy shallow pool. We got changed quickly and played on the little playground for a little bit, then the bus arrived. I talked to my friends while we walked to the bus!
By Ahurei
We went to Harcourt Park. We went on the bus. Everyone went to the bush walk. We looked for something soft. Then I ate some food. I ate crackers. I played on the swing. I ate popcorn for lunch. I ate some sausages and I watched them.
